Perhaps I should add a note here that I don't hold it against the game, nor do I have any hard feelings for people still playing? Like, my dislike/quitting is 100% a me thing, tons of other people enjoy it and I hope they continue to do so. :)
Anyways, I should clarify that if Niantic makes it, I don't want it, not after seeing them in action. But that does remind me of a very I Can't Believe It's Not Pokemon PGO-style game I heard about, made by an entirely different company and built *slightly* differently. Maybe I should peek towards that again, it sounded decent enough.
Habatica/HabitRPG I hadn't heard of, I'll have to look into those! Thank you!
I don't know if PGO was being "stressful" exactly... a lot of my dislike came down to it being a game built around a lifestyle & life situation extremely unlike my own. Namely it's a game built by rich white tech dudes, FOR rich white tech dudes, and all other demographics are invisible to the makers. I was trying to play regardless because yaaaay pokemon, yaaaaay going outside; but no. Oh well, it happens!
I admit that when I realized going all-in was causing me such "ugh" I thought I'd try dialing it back. But (as I more or less figured...) I prefer my games all-in or not at all. I don't want to chill when there's tons more game I could be in the thick of! I want to PLAY GAEM, or else I want to wander off and try something else. That probably sounds like a character flaw, but my GOD it does wonders for my Steam library. So small, so simple... so little money wasted on games I'll never play. ;)
