Pokemon Go 2018-12-11: Ramble-Log
Summary: good car karma (carma?) and some happy catches. For once I'm tired at the end of the day. :0
And I didn't even know it was there! It wasn't listed on the tracker at all. I was merely walking along, waiting for the cheep of nearby pokemon popping in, checked my phone– I'm glad nobody was around, I probably made quite the face. >_>; Warmfeather was at the start of a new candy too so I quickly swapped them out. NOT a fan of the 3km per candy thing but it's more Shroomish candies than I get otherwise so okay.
The early-day walk was to the corner gyms because I wanted some coins! Team Yellow owned both, each with six defenders, but one of them still had some filled hearts in it while the other was down to six empty-hearts. I figured that was the one worth taking/they wanted took?, swept them all out, and installed my beloved Mantine. (I don't know why I like my Mantine so much. It just looks soft and fluffy and good for hugging I suppose.) Softsong is still hanging out being adorable, along with five other ðŸ‡ðŸ‡®ðŸ‡¬ðŸ‡ 🇵🇴🇼🇪🇷 🇷🇴🇺🇬ðŸ‡-🇦🇳🇩-🇹🇺🇲🇧🇱🇪 🇧🇦🇹🇹🇱🇪 🇷🇪🇦🇩🇾 pokemon, because apparently I rang the dinner bell for Team Red when I took it. I wish I had some way of contacting these players because presumably they live very nearby and are quite active! Would be nice to have local trade-capable friends. Also they're veteran badasses, Alohan Exeggutor aren't free.
...I just noticed the beachy theme: the gym currently contains five swimmy water types (Mantine, Whiscash, Kingdra, Sharpedo, Lanturn) and a very tall palm tree. Oh my g– was that intentional? I love these people.
Anyways. The more exciting happening was after I finished taking the gym I came across someone parked oddly in the parking lot. Turned out their car had run out of gas! They had a spare cannister but couldn't figure out how to get it to dispense. So using my My Dad Was A Mechanic superpowers, I poked and prodded and fiddled until I stumbled across the solution. I warned them to toss the tshirt that had been promoted to Gasoline Rag and they were effusively grateful before driving off. Carma!
I wish I hadn't got gasoline all over my coat and gloves and pants in the process, but oh well. Coat's at the cleaner's, gloves and pants are tomorrow's handwashing project (noooo eurrrrgh I probably need to buy some Dawn for it too).
The evening walk was longer but even less eventful. I went down to the creek again: only one water-type but hey, Marill get! On the way back I checked the good cul-de-sac and found an abRA!! Golden Razz'd it, which was probably a waste, but on the other hand: who's going to stop me? >:B
I returned home unable to find the Psyduck on the Nearby tracker. How fitting that one spawned on top of me hours later.
My feet were KILLING ME upon return so tomorrow might be a no/less walking day, noooo. I want to walk! Maybe I'll check out The Other Grocery Store's, uh, landmass (pavingmass?) for 'stops/gyms, goodness knows it's huge and well-trafficked so even if there's nothing to spin I might meet some nice pokemon. And then I can buy whatever I need to clean up gasoline. (I'm so tempted to just toss the gloves/pants, those pants are betrayers that keep trying to escape down my butt while I walk and the gloves are fairly old... but that's lazyyyy and wastefulllll, I can try to clean them first.)

I GOT A SHROOMISH! Years ago I did one of those "pick your favorite Pokemon" things and the result that stuck with me was a triple: Pidgeot, Breloom and Scolipede. (I'm habitually bad at picking favorites so ANY picks lasting more than fifteen seconds were an unexpected delight.) I grabbed a Pidgey and started walking it as my buddy a week ago. Gen V pokemon aren't in the game yet. So all those Shroomish silhouettes... they've taunted me.Evening Walk: 4.4km, 1hr 17min
