Pokemon Go 2018-12-17: Ramble-Log

Summary: adventures in exploring more of the nearby roads! This was also the first long walk that happened during daylight.
Walk: 6.5 km, 1hr 45min
Weather: clear, medium mud, surprisingly windy, ~2-7°C

Caught: Scyther (x2!)
Hatched: Togepi, Pichu
Kudos to the egg from *leans over to check* Austria! that coughed up my first Togepi. A day or two ago I was daydreaming about how much I'd love to get a fluffy floating triangle I mean Togekiss. There were two or three other hatches but none were noteworthy or exciting. And yes, I have been squandering limited incubators on my normal walking. For awhile I considered hoarding them for later but... honestly, I'm not playing to minmax my whatever, I playing for fun. So using them up as I please it is!

Today's walk was corner gyms, down to T.F.M., and then I was eyeballing a side road I hadn't been down because it looked like it would spit me out near an otherwise-inaccessible 'stop. Good features: road did indeed go that way, road was COVERED in pokemon spawns, I answered some lingering questions about the path along the creek's output, and I made it to the otherwise-inaccessible 'stop to catch not one but TWO Scyther.

Bad features: I didn't have to walk along No Shoulder The Murder-Road for very long but that short stretch was Y I K E S .
I'm talking so bad that I may very well never do it again, rare pokemon be damned.

+2 Scyther later (and oooh boy are they good ones, great IVs and monster CP, they can dunk on some of my legendaries already) I eeled back to safety and power-walked home because YET AGAIN I considered bringing a battery pack and YET AGAIN I went "naaaaah I won't be out that long" because I STILL HAVEN'T LEARNED.

I did see a fox maybe 3 meters away from me in someone's yard. It was hiding behind a shrub, except the shrub started with a thin branchless trunk and the bottom was still pretty sparse, so it wasn't exactly... hiding very well.... And even cooler, on my drive back from the store (Dinner Emergency Purchase: 2 zucchini, a jar of apple sauce & a cake) the local owl swooped down near the road where the streetlight illuminated it! Guessing it's the owl I've heard before in the nearby trees, also guessing it's a Great Horned based on having the stereotypical owl hoo.

I'm also baffled to report that all this walking is improving my stamina. I even jogged (very briefly! but still!) a few times, to hustle out of the way, and afterwards still felt fine. Actually truly fine. It's almost as if that whole "exercising regularly improves your capabilities" thing was right!
